Can I charge for late cancellations?
Yes. Add it as its own line when you describe the month, e.g. “plus one late cancellation at £20”.
I teach in a school too. Does MTD apply to me?
Only your tutoring income counts towards the thresholds. Your school salary doesn’t. MTD applies from April 2027 if your tutoring turnover is over £30,000, and from April 2028 if it’s over £20,000. Check yours with the MTD wave calculator.
Can families pay online?
Invoices can include an optional payment link, so parents can pay straight away.
Can I invoice monthly instead of per session?
Yes. Most tutors send one invoice per family per month.
